Eligibility​​
Journals for Scholars in STEM and Humanities Research (JSSHR) welcome students currently in grades 8-12 to submit their research paper to JSSHR. Participants must be under 18 years of age at the time of submission.​

​We welcome students from around the world to participate. However, your research paper must be written in English. Submissions in any other languages will not be considered.

Essay Topics
Your work must align with one of the following subject matters:

Group 1: Sciences and Mathematics

Group 2: Technology and Engineering

Group 3: Social Studies and History
-
Group 4: Economics and Business

Submissions in other subject matters will not be eligible. Each year, you may submit just 1 application in total.
Judging Criteria
Our panel judges evaluate every eligible research paper submitted by participants. The judging criteria include but are not limited to the originality of the topic, the process and depth of the research, the project's impact, structural coherence, and academic writing proficiency.

Exceptional submissions will demonstrate a unique perspective, a well-executed research methodology, a clear articulation of impact, a coherent structure, and compelling writing that engages and persuades the audience. ​​​​​

We will be using AI detection tools to make sure submissions are the student's original work.

The essay competition is open to high school students with a keen interest in STEM or Humanities subjects.

You must currently be in grades 8-12 and under 18 years of age at the time of submission to participate.

The topic must align with STEM or Humanities disciplines, and your paper must be submitted to the correct subject group in the application form.

Research papers must be written in English and follow the format of an academic paper, journal, or business proposal.

Each year, you may submit just 1 application in total. Do not make multiple submissions, even if they are from different groups.

Papers should be between 3 to 10 pages in length.

Collaboration is allowed with up to 2 partners, but you must be the primary researcher, and you must specify the names and roles of collaborators.

The research paper must be the original work of the participant. Use of AI or translation tools in any part of the paper is strictly prohibited.

Ethical guidelines must be followed in all research projects.

Proper citation of all sources that are not original is required.

Submissions will be subjected to a plagiarism check, and any instance of plagiarism will lead to instant disqualification.
